The riddle - Roscoe RoD - Tokotas

First of a set of RoD for Ninjiss of Roscoe *0* I got a bit carried away with this haha, but I really like the outcome! n__n I really enjoyed toying with all the light sources, was good practice.

Dark paws quickly padded the mud and grass below. There was a hint of uncertainty in their steps but the pace made the black tokota feel like he had to continue moving forward, no matter what. A slight breeze gently waved through his half mane and yellow eyes looked up to the cloudy sky. A few stars could be seen through the dark clouds above, but the full moon was invisible. It did illuminate edges of the clouds and Roscoe knew that soon it would reveal itself. And with the moon, it would reveal his first task in order to pass his Rites of Dominance.

The young black tokota had been chasing a white raven for three days now and thirst and hunger had almost overcome him. He was so tired, his paws could almost not carry him anymore. The morning before he had to climb the merciless rocks and steep cliffs of the mountain and his pawpads were covered with cuts and bruises which stung mercilessly with each step. However, the mood and atmosphere of the surroundings of the Taniya mountains made him believe he was nearing the end of his journey. Roscoe made it through a small brush of low bushes and foliage and before him he saw the white raven perched on the branch of an old dead tree, right at the ridge of a steep ledge. The sheer thought of the plumett made Roscoe's stomach turn. He stopped in his tracks and huffed, looking up at the white raven. "Are you finally done fleeing from me?" The raven cocked it's head and blinked once, staring the black tokota dead in the eye, not afraid of the self assured beast before it. It didn't speak but Roscoe could hear it's voice in his mind, clear and without waver. "No, young one, I was merely showing you the way." "Do you even know where you are?"

Roscoe muttered something under his breath but continued looking at the raven. "I've come to solve your riddle. To show I'm worthy of these Rites." He stated as he felt an odd feeling growing in his stomach. He knew this wasn't pups play anymore, if he would not solve the raven's riddle, he would take something away from him. Something really important to him. There were stories of the raven taking even lives of loved ones of the tokotas who dared to go before him. The merciless journey that he had undertook to get here was not going to stand in the way of his mind's clarity tonight. Shaking his head lightly, Roscoe tried to get those dark thoughts out his head. He needed to focus on what was before him. The raven cooed, seemingly pleased to hear the words of the black tokota. Slowly, the moon started to reveal itself from the dark clouds behind the raven and eerie looking fireflies, slowly floating out from behind Roscoe, started to appear on the scene as well. One by one they started glowing more intensely and Roscoe knew he had to pick of the fireflies to reveal the riddle. He intently gazed around, searching for the brightest shining firefly and to start his Rites... There was no going back now.
